About Water Chestnut

I’m Ayeesha Kanji. A coach, writer, educator, and lifelong creative who helps people reconnect with who they are so they can navigate change, lead with confidence, and create lives and careers with greater clarity, purpose, and intention.
For more than 15 years, I’ve worked across human resources, leadership development, coaching, adult education, and organizational learning, supporting professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations through meaningful periods of growth, transition, and transformation.
My journey has never followed a straight line, and I’m grateful for that. Alongside my professional career, creativity has always been a constant thread in my life. Writing, dance, storytelling, facilitation, and learning from different people and cultures have shaped how I understand growth and transformation. Today, my work brings those worlds together, the strategic and the creative, the professional and the personal.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: meaningful change begins with understanding yourself.
Many of us reach a point where we know something needs to change, but we aren’t quite sure what that change should look like. Whether you’re navigating a career transition, stepping into leadership, redefining success, or simply feeling ready for a new chapter, I create space for you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, recognize your strengths, and understand what truly matters to you.
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice or telling people who they should become. I believe we already carry enormous potential within us. Sometimes, we simply need the right questions, perspective, tools, and support to uncover it.
As an Accredited Being Profile Practitioner, I help clients develop a deeper understanding of who they are at their core, how they naturally operate, and what they need in order to thrive. I also work with organizations to design and facilitate human-centered learning experiences that develop confident leaders, strengthen teams, improve communication, and create workplaces where people feel supported and able to grow.
My work and perspectives have been featured in publications including CXO Outlook and CIO Times, and I’ve been recognized among the Top 100 Health & Wellness Professionals. I’m also a published contributing author, poet, and Executive Contributor for Brainz Magazine.
Ultimately, I believe success is most meaningful when you don’t have to lose yourself to achieve it. My goal is to help people move from asking, “What am I supposed to do?” to being able to say, “I understand what matters to me, and I trust myself to take the next step.”
If you’re navigating a career or life transition, stepping into leadership, redefining what success means to you, searching for greater purpose, or simply feeling ready for something different, I’d love to connect.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes, one meaningful conversation is enough to see the next chapter a little more clearly.
